A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945

"1945-1998" by Isao Hashimoto
Every Nuclear Explosion on Earth and Who Has Detonated The Most Bombs

A sobering piece of video art, that lasts 15 minutes. It takes on the form of a info graphic and seems to be, a first, an interesting way to illustrate factual events. But as the years go by, and starts to get nearer to our lifetime in the late 20th early 21st century it stops being historical data - it becomes our future. The eerie part is, while watching this, you realise that none of this is under your control, it`s happening at a frightening pace, it`s getting quicker and the ability to kill off everything on the planet is held by people whose only goal is to be the last man standing.

1962 is where things start to get active.
