Here are three TV interviews showing Poly Styrene at the beginning of her career, Paul Weller talking politics whilst fronting his second band the style council, and Phil Lynnott at the end of his career - filmed three weeks before his death. The `TV interview` has changed over the years, with less emphasis on the `art` side of creating music, and artists have become more `professional` and more guarded when dealing with the media. We as the the public have grown used to musicians in the mainstream not being political, curbing their personal views and hearing less about the inspiration behind the songs they make. TV has died a death in regards to music - just a handful of shows remain on air and the TONNES of music channels have music videos playlists that are narrow, under heavy rotation, and favours slick MTV styled performances not much else.
