History of the 1979 Iranian revolution

This film has been put together from various docs, mostly from the BBC. It tells the story of the Shah, how he came to power and how the seeds of the 1979 revolution were sown. He was on a mission to `modernise` Iran, but ending up with Iranians bubbling with resentment, with Khomeni waiting in the wings to eventually take power. With interviews from the key people from the time, including the Shah`s son, who commited suicide this year (as did his sister a few years ago).

The 1979 revolution was the first to be caught on film, and is well documented, in contrast to the media blackout of the green revolution that was crushed by the authorities. The current rulers learnt all the lessons from 1979 and made sure that the world saw very little of it. This film, although crudely put together in parts, has interesting footage for different sources.
