There are so many ways to compare this guy to Ben folds. The name, the first choice of instrument, and they write songs in the same tradition. This guy though takes it somewhere differently. Ben Folds Five were prone to use instrumentation other than what they played themselves, but generally arranged rather sparingly and mixed so the focus was more on interplay within the band. But this Ben is on his own, so the songs themselves become the focus, and thus, even though it totally unfair to compare the two, he`s created something that Ben Fold Five fans will totally appreciate without feeling it`s a rip off of the trio.
